Belarusian President checks progress of ongoing industrial projects

BelTA) – During a visit to the Amkodor Lesmash forestry machinery manufacturer in Logoisk District on 25 September, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko recalled the tasks facing the holding company, as well as other areas in the industrial sector, BelTA has learned.
Regarding both the Amkodor Selmash enterprise in Logoisk District and the Amkodor holding company as a whole, the head of state was assured that there is positive momentum.
“So, there will be a result. God willing. I am keeping a very close eye on Amkodor. This is very important for us. I don’t even want to say how much it matters. You know it yourself, better than I do,” the president said, addressing Aleksandr Yefimov, Director General of Amkodor – Managing Company of the Amkodor Holding Company.
The current head of the holding company is a former industry minister. He took the helm of the company in the summer of 2025, but even before his ministerial work, Aleksandr Yefimov’s career path was closely linked with Amkodor. “This is where my career began. That is why it is close to my heart,” he noted.
When appointing the new head of Amkodor, Aleksandr Lukashenko set tasks to turn the enterprise around, develop production, and push harder into foreign markets. Much has been achieved in this area over the year, but there is still a lot of work ahead.
Speaking about Aleksandr Yefimov’s current tasks, the president said: “You must achieve a breakthrough on this front, and then we will see what to do with you [in terms of career prospects].”
Then Aleksandr Lukashenko turned to Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Karankevich, asking how things were progressing with the development and production of certain new technical items for the domestic industry.
“Is the milking machine ready?” the head of state inquired.
“It will be ready by December. And we will be demonstrating it,” the deputy prime minister said.
This robotic milking unit had already been preliminarily demonstrated to the head of state at the end of 2025. The domestic software package for it was developed by N-holding. The machine itself is designed to meet a crucial need for the livestock farming automation segment.
“It is working well in the trial stage so far. I visited and saw it all myself,” Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian People’s Congress and authorized representative of the head of state in Minsk Oblast Aleksandr Kosinets said.
Another area for which Viktor Karankevich is personally responsible is the final fine-tuning of technology and the launch into serial production of the first domestic combined round baler. The prototype was demonstrated to the president this summer during a working trip to Bereza District.
“Each press has already made 4,000 bales. We are continuing the trials,” the deputy prime minister said.
Aleksandr Lukashenko asked how this unit performs in comparison with foreign counterparts.
“We can say it is as good as the imported ones. In certain aspects, it is even better,” Viktor Karankevich assured.
“Well, see to it. This is also a reflection of your work. Just as Amkodor is for him [Aleksandr Yefimov], these two specific items are for you,” the head of state said.
Next, Industry Minister Andrei Kuznetsov delivered his report. The president had previously instructed him to master the production of high-quality hydraulics in Belarus, which are in high demand at many industrial enterprises across the country.
“Following your instruction, we held a meeting at our main company Saleo in Dzerzhinsk. We involved not only our subordinate enterprises but also the private sector,” the minister said.
In response, Aleksandr Lukashenko instructed to involve anyone necessary, including foreign experts. “If we need someone from abroad, we will buy, we will pay, if there is an opportunity to bring someone in,” he said.
Andrei Kuznetsov reported that there are already results in terms of producing domestic hydraulics in the country. For example, domestic hydraulics are used in 80 % of the machinery manufactured at MTZ and Gomselmash. Parallel work is additionally under way to improve quality. The minister is confident that a decent result will be demonstrated next year during the implementation of the head of state’s instruction.
“This is also a reflection of your work,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said. “We must resolve the issue with hydraulics.”
