Snopkov highlights depth of political trust between Belarus, China

BelTA) – “‘Iron-clad brothers’ reflect the depth of political trust that has developed between Belarus and China,” First Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Nikolai Snopkov said at a ceremony marking the upcoming National Day of the People’s Republic of China on 22 September, BelTA has learned.
“We Belarusians sincerely rejoice in the successes of our all-weather and comprehensive strategic partner. Belarusian-Chinese relations are a true friendship tested by time. We call each other ‘iron-clad brothers,’ and these are not just lofty words but a reflection of the depth of political trust that has developed between the Republic of Belarus and the People’s Republic of China,” Nikolai Snopkov emphasized.
Personal trust between the leaders plays a special role in Belarusian-Chinese cooperation. “Their annual meetings and regular exchange of views on a wide range of issues provide a solid foundation for the strategic dialogue between Minsk and Beijing and clear guidelines for every area of cooperation without exception,” Nikolai Snopkov said.
A new directive on the practical implementation of the all-weather and comprehensive strategic partnership has been adopted. “We are holding the Years of Industrial Cooperation and implementing major investment projects. All this means real production facilities, new technologies, jobs and, most importantly, new opportunities for future generations. We are moving from individual projects toward the formation of a common industrial space.
Together, we are taking care of our common future,” Nikolai Snopkov noted.
Belarus and China provide each other with unwavering support on matters concerning their fundamental interests. Even amid sweeping changes in the world, Belarusian-Chinese relations are successfully standing the test of time and moving only upward.
He recalled an Eastern proverb: “The dog barks, the caravan goes on.” The phrase is usually used to dismiss those who try to obstruct the movement. “But I suggest looking at it differently. The caravan does not move despite the barking, it moves because of it. It is a signal, a warning. It is the very external force that makes us look back in time, think faster, choose our route more precisely, avoid dangers, and stay on course. Where others turned away, we accelerated. Where others doubted and were afraid, we lent each other a shoulder,” he said.
“Seventy-seven years is a symbol of double good fortune, double happiness. May the People’s Republic of China confidently move forward, and may the Chinese people always live in peace, prosperity, and confidence in tomorrow. May our friendship, tested by time and common endeavors, grow stronger year by year,” Nikolai Snopkov said. “I congratulate you on the upcoming Mid-Autumn Festival, whose main idea is family unity. The most precious thing that every person has.”
