Belarusian President okays draft agreement on trade, economic cooperation with Uruguay

BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko signed decree No.315 on 15 September to approve a draft agreement on trade and economic cooperation with the Oriental Republic of Uruguay as the basis for negotiations, BelTA has learned.
The international treaty aims to establish a framework for stepping up economic relations between the two states. For this purpose, the agreement outlines core objectives, including facilitating the interaction between commercial entities of the parties, exchanging information about trade opportunities and applicable legislation, and expanding and diversifying trade flows.
The draft agreement also provides for establishing a Belarusian-Uruguayan joint intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation, defining its key functions and procedures for holding sessions.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been authorized to conduct negotiations on the draft agreement and sign it.
