No talks on new IMF program in Belarus yet
MINSK, 30 July (BelTA) – Belarus is not yet in negotiations on a new cooperation program with IMF, Chairman of the Board of the National Bank of Belarus Piotr Prokopovich told media on 29 July.
“We have good relations with the IMF. We have gained considerable experience from the implementation of the previous program. We continue our cooperation with the fund and will be further strengthening it,” Piotr Prokopovich said.
“As for a new program, this issue will be discussed during the work of the IMF mission. Today there is no need in attracting IMF resources,” he stated.
According to him, if necessary Belarus can always address the fund, “but there is no such necessity today”. |
