Kobyakov gives interview to Xinhua

MINSK (BelTA) – Prime Minister of Belarus Andrei Kobyakov has given an interview to Xinhua News Agency of China on 21 May, BelTA has learnt.

During the interview Andrei Kobyakov answered questions about Belarus-China relations, like Belarus' participation in the construction of the Silk Road economic belt, trade and economic engagement of the two countries, development prospects of the Great Stone park and other joint projects, mutual visa waiver program, humanitarian contacts and many other matters.

The interview took place in the run-up to the official visit of Vice President of the People's Republic of China Wang Qishan to Belarus at the end of May. The visit to Belarus will precede a session of the Council of Heads of State - members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in China. Belarus' President Alexander Lukashenko is scheduled to take part in this session and to meet with President Xi Jinping.

“We view Wang Qishan's visit to Belarus as part of our preparations for the meeting of the two heads of state. We have plans to share views on topical issues of the international agenda and to discuss joint efforts to promote our joint project Great Stone, ways to expand Belarus-China cooperation in mechanical engineering, as well as humanitarian engagement of the two countries and implementation of a series of joint investment projects,” Andrei Kobyakov said in the interview.
