Moldova ready for all-round cooperation with Belarus

CHISINAU, 30 June (BelTA) – Moldova is ready to develop and strengthen all-round cooperation with Belarus and take bilateral relations onto a new level, Chairman of the Parliament of Moldova Marian Lupu said as he spoke at a solemn reception at the Belarusian embassy in Chisinau to mark Independence Day in Belarus.

Marian Lupu congratulated the Belarusian people and authorities on Independence Day, wished the country and its citizens every success and prosperity.

The Speaker said that during his recent official visit to Belarus the two countries agreed on a wide range of bilateral issues, outlined strategic plans which are to be implemented including as part of the parliamentary agreement signed in Minsk.

Marian Lupu emphasized that Moldova has no different opinions on the quality and prospects of relations with Belarus. Chisinau is interested in strengthening cooperation in all the areas since it meets the interests of the two states and their people. In his words, it includes closer trade and economic ties – from simple trade to more integrated forms of cooperation, creation of new joint companies, implementation of joint investment projects and programs.

The Moldavian authorities intend to develop humanitarian and cultural links with Belarus. Marian Lupu emphasized the importance of preserving an interhuman dialogue and relations which guarantees success in all-round cooperation.

Partaking in the reception in Chisinau to mark Independence Day of Belarus were Moldavian MPs, Cabinet members, businessmen, civil organizations, Belarusian communities, creative intelligentsia, clergy, and diplomats.
