Belarus President wants staffing issue in Minsk City Hall settled

MINSK, 30 September (BelTA) – At the government session held on 29 September Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko instructed Head of the Presidential Administration Vladimir Makei to address personnel issues in the Minsk City Hall, BelTA learnt from the presidential press service.

At the end of the meeting Alexander Lukashenko gave a number of instructions. As regards the construction complex, the Belarusian leader asked Vladimir Makei to deal with the existing problems there. “Everything should be brought into sync. The industry needs honest and decent people who would be able to address the emerging issues swiftly,” the head of state stressed.

Chairman of the State Control Committee Alexander Yakobson was instructed to deal with the designing costs of the projects. “We need to work in line with the European standards. This will require great effort and discipline,” Alexander Lukashenko said.

The construction of state-financed facilities should be taken under special control, the head of state emphasized. “Get a handle on the protracted projects,” he demanded.

“There should be no middlemen in what regards Belarusian products,” Alexander Lukashenko added.

“I give you one month to put things right there. Vladimir Makei is in charge of the personnel issues, Vice Premier Anatoly Kalinin goes about his issues including in the construction area, Alexander Yakobson deals with the problem of mediation and state-financed projects,” the President said.
