Belarus conducts national cleanup day

MINSK ( BelTA) – April 20 is a national cleanup day in Belarus, BelTA has learned.

The event is voluntary. On this day, Belarusians will take action to make their communities a better place, to landscape and tidy up historical and cultural sites, memorial complexes, places of military and military glory, burials of soldiers and partisans of the Great Patriotic War. A cleanup day can be held at workplaces.

The money earned during the cleanup day, including at workplaces, will be spent in the following ways: 35 % will go to the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee for the reconstruction of the To Children – Victims of War memorial in the village of Krasny Bereg, Zhlobin District, 35 % – to the Brest Oblast Executive Committee for a project to set up a national center for patriotic education in the Kobrin fortification of Brest Fortress, 30 % – for the reconstruction and restoration of memorial complexes, places of military and military glory located in the regions and the city of Minsk.
