Law concerning treatment of wastes modified
The Law of the Republic of Belarus of 10 May 2019 amended the Law of the Republic of Belarus of 20 July 2007 “On treatment of wastes” with a view of simplification of the requirements for business entities in the field of waste management, the National Legal Internet Portal of the Republic of Belarus informs. The law also specifies the competence of state bodies in that sphere.
According to the amendments, importation of wastes into the Republic of Belarus for the purpose of their storage at the waste storage facilities, as well as burial and/or decontamination in the territory of the Republic of Belarus is prohibited.
The Law of 10 May 2019 was officially published in Russian on the National Legal Internet Portal of the Republic of Belarus on 8 June 2019 and enters into force in six months after its official publication.
