Belarus to create nation-wide system for monitoring public security

According to Edict of the President of the Republic of Belarus of 25 May 2017 No 187, a nation-wide system for monitoring public security should be created in Belarus. Coordination of activities on creating, functioning and using the monitoring system is imposed on the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The main goals of the monitoring system shall be supervision of the public security to ensure social order, prevention and detection of crimes and other offences, as well as persons that committed them, prevention and liquidation of emergencies.

The Edict was officially published in Russian on the National Legal Internet Portal of the Republic of Belarus on 30 May 2017 and entered into force after its official publication.
