Penalties for illegal poppy seeds turnover increased

Harsher penalties for illegal poppy seeds turnover are established by the Law of 10 January 2015 No 243-Z which amended the Code of the Republic of Belarus on Administrative Offences of 21 April 2003. The amendments provide that illegal transportation, storage and sale of poppy seeds without a special packing shall be punished by fines. They also ban any transactions between individuals concerning poppy seeds without a special packing.

The Law No 243-Z was officially published on the National Legal Internet Portal of the Republic of Belarus on 22 January 2015 and enters into force in one month after its official publication.
