Belarus approved the Law on Belarusians living abroad

The Law on Belarusians living abroad was signed by the President of the Republic of Belarus on 16 June 2014. The Law determines principles, objectives and ways of the state policy in the sphere of relations with Belarusians living abroad in order to ensure the solidarity of Belarusians all over the world, safeguarding their national and cultural identity and strengthening their relations with the Republic of Belarus. According to the Law the Belarusians leaving abroad include persons permanently residing abroad, which identify themselves as Belarusians or descend from the territory of the contemporary Republic of Belarus.

The Law has been officially published on the National Legal Internet Portal of the Republic of Belarus on 20 June 2014 and enters into force in three months after its official publication.
