Belarus signs action plan on cooperation with Serbia

Belarus and Serbia signed an action plan on expansion of bilateral cooperation and a protocol of the 7th meeting of the Belarusian-Serbian intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation that took place in Minsk on 25 September. The documents were signed by the Minister of trade of Belarus Valentin Chekanov and Minister for Regional Development and Local Self-Government of Serbia Igor Mirovic.

The parties agreed to continue active work regarding joint production of MTZ tractors in Serbia. A joint Belarusian-Serbian company will start producing MAZ vehicles in Serbia in 2013. A lot of proposals were made to develop cooperation in agriculture, construction and energy.

Minister for Regional Development and Local Self-Government of Serbia Igor Mirovic noted that the parties signed two very important documents for both the countries: an action plan with concrete projects and a protocol of the meeting which, according to the minister, would give additional impetus to cooperation development. The parties also discussed cooperation in culture, technology and science.
