UN jointly with Belarus launches technical assistance project against human trafficking

Belarus has launched an international technical assistance project on combating human trafficking under the aegis of the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights. It is the first technical assistance project between Belarus and the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights.

In May Minsk is set to play host to a seminar for representatives of law-enforcement bodies of the Group of Friends United against Human Trafficking. 22 countries will take part in the event, as well as representatives of international organizations and NGOs, including the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights. The implementation of the project to combat human trafficking in Belarus is funded by Russia.
