Belarus-Bangladesh agreement on visa-free travel for diplomats to be ratified in autumn

The Republic of Belarus and the People's Republic of Bangladesh signed the Agreement on visa-free travel for diplomats on 12 November 2012. According to the Agreement, the holders of the service and diplomatic passports will be exempt from visa requirements for entry, exit or transit. The holders of such passports can stay without a visa in the territory of another state not more than 90 days from the date of entry. This document assumes that a citizen can enjoy such preferential treatment if he does not engage in any work activities on the territory of another state.

The House of Representatives of the National Assembly is expected to consider the bill on ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Belarus and the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh on the abolition of visas for holders of diplomatic and service passports. The Commission for international affairs has decided to propose the House of Representatives to consider the bill at the autumn session. The agreement with Bangladesh is needed for closer and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.
