Address system of immovable property to be created in Belarus

In order to facilitate the development of informatization processes, organization of effective interaction between state information resources, protection of rights and lawful interests of citizens and legal persons in assigning, modifying, terminating of the existence of addresses of immovable property objects, the Edict of the President of the Republic of Belarus of 9 April 2012 No 160 regulates the issues concerning functioning and maintenance of the immovable property address system and address register in Belarus. According to the Edict the State Committee on Property is designated to be the owner of the address system. It also shall ensure the creation and maintenance of the address register of the Republic of Belarus and also provide access to the information contained therein. The Edict also determines that from 1 January 2015 the use of the address register data is obligatory for state bodies and other state organizations. The Edict enters into force in six months after its official publication.
